The entrance examination was conducted for admission into the JSS 1 of the 104 unity schools across the country.

Parents could also check the results of their children and wards at the state ministries of education as well as NECO offices nationwide.

NECO common entrance results are accessible online by following the procedures outlined below.

this information is brought to you by educationvc: It noted that the decision was unanimously agreed by the Executive Council during an extraordinary meeting of the council Wednesday night “to immortalize Late Danmasanin Kano Alhaji Dr Yusuf Maitama Sule due to his immense contributions to the development of Kano, Arewa and Nigeria at large”.

The Commissioner of Information, Malam Mohammed Garba, announced the decision at a news conference in Kano on Thursday.

Garba also said the council had approved the renaming of Dawaki road where the residence of the deceased was located to Yusuf Maitama Sule.

The commissioner added that the council had equally renamed Yusuf Maitama Sule link road to Jafaru Dan Malam link road.

Update: FUTA HAS NOT INCREASED FEES FOR STUDENTS

The attention of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA has been drawn to reports in some national newspapers claiming that fees payable by students have been increased to N83,340.00.
For the avoidance of doubt no such decision has been taken at any level in the University. The fees payable by students remain what they were before the erroneous report.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joseph Fuwape has therefore urged students, parents the University community and other stakeholders to disregard the report. He has also assured the students that their welfare and well being remain one of the cardinal agenda of his administration.

Notice to Ajayi Crowther University Graduates on Collection of Certificates

The Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) Management at its meeting on Monday June 19, 2017 directed as follows:

That the list of all uncollected certificates with the name of students, sessions and degree on graduation as well as reason for non-collection of the certificate, be produced.
That the said list be published in the national dailies and instruction given that all ACU graduates who have not yet collected their certificates should do so latest by September 30, 2017 after which defaulters will be heavily surcharged.
That the general public especially employers should no longer recognize the Statement of Results issued in the past after September 30, 3017.
That all Statements of results to be issued henceforth will be valid for only one year as graduates have the opportunity to collect their certificates on Convocation Day; hence there will be no use of the Statement of Result after the collection of certificate.

The Total E&P Nigeria Limited in conjunction with the Institute of Petroleum Studies, University of Port-Harcourt is offering scholarship opportunities to Nigerians who wants to pursue a Post Graduate Diploma in Petroleum Technology programme.

Eligibility

- Applicants must be Nigerians

- Applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division), Bachelor’s Degree in any branch of Engineering and the Physical/Chemical Sciences

the Founder, Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo, has urged institutions of higher learning to breed students who have the mind of wanting to know more.
Speaking during the formal unveiling of the institution’s new logo in Lagos, Ade-Ojo said, students with inquiry minds are curious, probing and inquisitive in seeking facts and this will help them in asking questions about societal happenings and proffering solutions to them.
He noted that it was in realisation of this fact that the university was set up to help train and expose Nigerian youths to quality teaching and learning experience.
Adeojo added that the new logo is a step towards actualising his vision of creating a world-class institution of higher learning, dedicated to the pursuit of academic and moral excellence in the institution.

He also said, “We are unveiling this new identity to herald a new dawn in the life of our great institution established for the growth of knowledge, character as well as the total development of mankind. The new identity reflects the resolve of the university to breed young men and women who will break new grounds in all areas of human endeavours in accordance with global best practices.” He also commended the National Universities Commission (NUC) for its support in the approval process of the new logo. Pro-Chancellor of the university, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, who also spoke at the event, harped on the relevance of building entrepreneurial spirit in young persons.
Commending the university administration for vigorously pursuing the vision of the founder, he assured that the institution would continue to strive to become notable like Harvard, Oxford and Yale universities among others.
He also announced that the university council would soon launch an endowment programme and two new scholarship schemes as part of its efforts to create a world-class institution.
“The scholarship would be for the winners of the ‘Founder’s Golf Challenge’ and the ‘Pro-Chancellor’s Fitness Challenge.’ Two students, male and female, will pick the star prizes for each activity when it is formally unveiled.
Outlining the university’s records from 2013 when it formally commenced academic activities with 13 courses, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Theophilus Fadayomi said the school at the moment has a total of 31 fully accredited academic programmes, just as students population has grown from 64 at inception to a total of 1,144 this year.
He further said that the schools’ state-of-the-art facilities for educational, physical and mental development, her high calibre teaching and non-teaching staff who employ the latest information and communications technology in diverse areas, stands the university out among its contemporaries.

He also commended the American Corner, Calabar as well as the state coordinator of NYSC Ambekemo Eniola for their support in the fulfillment of his dream.Receiving the books on-behalf of the management of the university, the vice chancellor Professor Anthony Owan Enoh said he was excited to see a corp member bring out his widow’s mite o support education.
He said, “ The corp member has shown that he did not only get a degree, he earned it and it is not the quantity of the books donated, but the attitude because without books there is no university, I know the value of books, I hope other young men would emulate this kind gesture to the university community”. The Corp Member has earlier donated items worth N500, 000 NAIRA to Internally Displaced people of Bakassi.
